8x+12=4(3+2)x
I understand that you need make it so theres only one variable on one side but how do you know which side to start with?

Although we prefer to start from that side which involves more calculation like removing parenthesis on right side will be better choice So for this problem i will recommend to start from the right side.

[tex] 8x+12=4(3+2)x [/tex]

[tex] 8x+12=4(5)x [/tex]

[tex] 8x+12=20x [/tex]

[tex]12=20x-8x [/tex]

[tex]12=12x [/tex]

[tex]12/12=12x/12 [/tex]

[tex]1=x [/tex]

Hence final answer to given equation is x=1.
