1-The time he spent as a diplomant in Florence. He had become a chancellor for the Florentine government so he was sent to France. There, he met Borgia, Borgia was a cruel and corrupt politician. However, Machiavelli thought Borgia had the qualities any politician needed.

2- The conflicts associated with the Italian Wars. The unity of Italy was threatened  by the interest of Italian states and foreign countries.  Machiavelli longed passionately for Italian unity.

3-The decision made by the ruling Medici family. During this time, Machiavelli was sent to prison and tortured. He had been acussed of leading a conspiracy against the Medici.

Machiavelli is an Italian diplomat and a politician and he starts writing during his young period.

All of these statements somehow influenced  Machiavelli.
