A text structure is a tool, a way to organize information into a passage. It´s is important when you need to identify patterns on state reading texts, in order to understand and interpret arguments. They are organizational patterns. For example, a text might show a main idea and then details, a cause and then its effects, so it helps you to organize and have a clear description of the facts. There are five text structures: Sequence, Problem and Solution, Compare and Contrast, Description and Cause and Effect.
