there is a single point which is a solution to the linear equation y-3 = 1/2 (x+4) that is obvious because the equation is in point slope form. There are an infinite number of points that are not so obvious. Find the coordinates of the obvious point, and then find two additional points

Respuesta :

obvious points are (-4,3)

y - 3 = 1/2(x + 4)
y - 3 = 1/2x + 2
y  = 1/2x + 2 + 3
y = 1/2x + 5

additional points :
sub in any number u want for x, and find y
y = 1/2x + 5.....subbing in 2 for x
y = 1/2(2) + 5
y = 1 + 5
y = 6
so when x is 2, y is 6....(2,6) <== additional point

y = 1/2x + 5 ...subbing in 0 for x
y = 1/2(0) + 5
y = 5....so when x is 0, y is 5......(0,5)... <== additional point
