Answer:

KEEP THE PEACE!

Part One:

Create a Top Five list of events related to westward expansion that affected African Americans. Review the lesson for compromises and consequences to help make your list. Events you should consider include the following:

Missouri Compromise

Compromise of 1850

Kansas-Nebraska Act

Dred Scott v. Sandford

Fugitive Slave Act

Nat Turner's Rebellion

Bleeding Kansas

Harpers Ferry

Part Two:

1.  Dred Scott v. Sandford

2. Fugitive Slave Act

3. Bleeding Kansas

4. Compromise 1850

5. Missouri Compromise

Part Two:

Explain your reasoning for the item you ranked as the #1 event with the strongest impact.

Dred Scott v. Sandford, in my opinion, is number one because it included high-power violating human rights. African Americans faced harsh and degrading treatment. Additionally, they were selected, rejected, sold, and mistreated as if they were objects or property. Additionally, the government misunderstood the Declaration of Independence's preamble, which asserts that all men are created equal and that their creator endows them with certain basic rights, among them are life, liberty, and happiness.

Part Three:

Post your list from Step 1 and you are reasoning for your #1 answer from Step 2 in the Discussion Area.

1.  Dred Scott v. Sandford

2. Fugitive Slave Act

3. Bleeding Kansas

4. Compromise 1850

5. Missouri Compromise

Dred Scott v. Sandford, in my opinion, is the most important case because human rights were being violated by a high-ranking official. African Americans were subjected to harsh and harmful treatment. Additionally, they were chosen, rejected, sold, and mistreated as if they were objects or pieces of property. Additionally, the government misunderstood the Declaration of Independence's Preamble, which asserts that all men are created equal and that their creator endows them with certain fundamental rights, among them are life, liberty, and happiness.
