"He has refused to pass other Laws for the Accommodation of large Districts of People, unless those People would relinquish the Right of Representation in the Legislature, a Right inestimable to them, and formidable to Tyrants only."

What is one way the forefathers ensured that the president of the United States would never become a tyrant like the king?

A. They guaranteed separation of church and state.

B. They set a limit on the amount of time one person could hold this office.

C. They provided for a term of four years.

D. They gave the judicial branch of government more power than the executive branch.

Respuesta :

I would say C, "They provided for a term of four years," because there was no hard time limit on the amount of time a president could hold office until FDR, Church and State separation does not curb executive power, and the judicial branch had no means of reinforcement, and thus no more power, as exhibited by Andrew Jackson's not following the Supreme court's decision in Worcester v. Georgia.
