We can infer that Henrietta’s life is that she had a very limited exposure to the various and diverse lifestyles of the world as her only exposure was limited to harvesting tobacco and butchering pigs. This would also mean she had little to no experience with reading and/or writing as well. In spite of these circumstances, it seems Henrietta led a content life. She was also very cooperative once she started accepting her condition and agreeing to the treatments and tests.
