I'm assuming the two equations are:

y - 4x = 8
and
y = 2(2x+4)

So the first equation can be rewritten as:

y = 4x + 8

The second equation, we can distribute the 2 to get:

y = 4x + 8

Thus we see that both equations are identical, which means there are an infinite number of solutions.
IF y-4x=8y=2(2x+4)
then y-8y=4x+2(2x+4)
y-8y=4x+4x+8
-7y=8x+8
y=(-8x-8)/7
x=(-7y-8)/8

IF y-4x=8 and y=2(2x+4)
then a)y=4x+8 and b)y=4x+8 so we have infinite answer
