The landmark pictured on the Segovia's coat of arms is the city's famous Aqueduct. Segovia is a city in Spain, famous for its impressive Roman Aqueduct. The legends of the local people tell the story of a serving girl who needed to climb up the mountain every day to get some water. As she grew tired of this situation, she wished to the Devil for something to be built in order to avoid all this climbing. One night the Devil granted her wish and started building the Aqueduct. However, in return for this favour, he asked for her soul, only if he would manage to finish the Aqueduct before the sunrise. Fortunately, the sun rose just before the Devil put the final stone on the Aqueduct and the girl kept her soul.
