One of the first places they started where the Canary, Azores and Madeira Islands of the coast of western Africa. Start your essay with an introduction. Introduce the topic of European colonization with some back ground information. Then come up with a thesis statement, which will be the end of your introduction.

In each body paragraph make sure you discuss what the Europeans learned while colonizing, and how they used this knowledge in the future.
