After the Versailles treaty, following the defeat of Germany in WWI, East prussia was left as a Germany exclave, separated completely from the main country by the Polish corridor. This caused isolation in the people from East Prussia, because moving through their own country now required from them a Polish Visa or pass feared and rigorous inspections.
