Sir Henrry Morton Staley was a journalist and a British American explorer of central Africa. One outstanding fact about him was the rescue of the famous Scottish missionary and explorer, David Livingstone, after the British consul had failed to contact him  several times. In 1873, after Dr. Livingstone died, Stanley decided to continue the exploration of Africa, from that point on.
