The spread is the max data entry - the least data entry. In this case 5 - 2 = 3
You could think of it as the range. The range is an indication of how far the max and min are apart.

The measure of the center is much harder. It can be either the actual center which in a bell curve is the mean. In that case you add the 10 numbers together and divide by 10. The total comes to 33. (2*2 + 4*3 + 3*4 + 1*5). Dividing by 10 gives 3.3

It could be the median which is the central number in order.
2 2 3 3 3 3 4 4 4 5 The central numbers are the last 2 threes. These have to be averaged which is (3 + 3)/2 or 3

It could be the mode which is the column with the most number in it. which is 3. I think the mode probably is what you want here, but my stats are weak so look back in your notes.

Center: Mode (3) or median (3)
Spread: 3

Much harder. The skew goes left. The spread is narrow max - min = 2

Here the mean is 54 / 10 = 5.4 which looks reasonable.
The median  is 4 5 5 5 5 6 6 6 6 6 which is the last 5 and the first 6. 5 + 6 = 11. 11/2 = 5.5
The mode is 6 which is not helpful as a center.

This is actually a very important question. My doctor was jabbering about average rates that one has to put up with a rash, and I asked him which average was used. He didn't know, so how does anyone know what they are really being told?

For this question, I would pick the median.
Spread = 2
