The answer is letter a. Japanese. This happened during World
War II. After the bombing of Pearl
Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt sanctioned the deportation and
incarceration of Japanese Americans with Executive Order 9066 that was issued
on February 19, 1942. During this period
many Japanese Americans enlisted in the U.S. Army to prove their loyalty as
Americans. Around 110,000 and 120,000
Japanese citizens were interned in these camps.
When the war ended, many were able to return to their homes but were harassed
due to their ethnicity. Many believed
that the internment was done for racist reasons rather than security concerns.
