A client who states, "I was forced to leave my country due to religious persecution" may have experienced (or be experiencing):
D. All of the above
An immigrant's transition to another country presents challenges and difficulties. When the reason for moving to a new country is religious persecution it makes the transition even harder. People need to adapt to a new culture, often a new language, a new job, new food, etc. Although they are running away from their country because they are being persecuted that doesn't mean they won't miss their homeland. People miss their homeland because they probably left behind family and friends. Finally, religious persecution is a traumatic experience which might leave people with PTSD.
