The Theseus myth ‘the Cruel Tribute’ is the story of how Minos, the King of Crete, orders the King of Athens to send him a male and female tribute every year to enter the Labyrinth and face the Minotaur as penance for killing Minos’ son. Thus any modern day story would include a Labyrinth and Minotaur, whether real or metaphorical.
