I believe the correct answers are increase of nationalism and the creation of the Arab League, along with the growth of Western influence.
The Arab countries (which are nations in North Africa and the Middle-East) tried to unify the nations, creating one Arab world. They were driven by the Arab Nationalism. One of the reasons behind this was to fight off the Western influence which they did not accept into their culture. This is also how the Arab League was born in 1945.
