The franco-dutch war was a conflict that lasted 6 years between France and the Dutch Republic; and each side had their own allies. It all started when Spain felt threaten by the French expansion; and eventually, France decided to invade the Spanish Netherlands to gain more land and that is when the war started. Various battles occurred, many people died, and all the countries were starting to feel the loss of money invested in the war. The peace talk began in 1976 and the final battle was the battle of Saint-Denis where the Spanish and Dutch joined forces to fight the French army in Luxembourg. France won the battle and Spain agreed to an armistice and a formal peace treaty on 1976.
