Emma is undoubtedly stunning, rich, and intelligent. She is also spoiled, intrusive, and misguided, though. Emma thinks she is a great matchmaker even though she is certain she will never be married. She explains this to her father and her close friend Mr.
Harriet is aware of how fortunate she is to have Emma's support and the opportunity to be her friend. Emma is smitten with Harriet since she thinks she's attractive and pleasant. Emma thinks Harriet is a great replacement for her governess, who had recently gotten married at the start of the book, as well.
She was courteous and made an impression on Emma with her kind disposition. She lacks sophistication and is far too susceptible to being persuaded, especially by Emma. Early in the book, Emma takes Harriet under her wing and uses her for some of her erroneous matchmaking schemes.
